Guided All-Day Retreats

A day of mindful silence can be a powerful and restorative experience, whether you are new to mindfulness or a seasoned practitioner. In that spirit, we would love to have you join us for a day of mindfulness meditation practices.

Before the day begins, we will send you instructions for creating a sanctuary in your own home. During the day, we will slowly guide you through practices that will expand your ability to settle and soften. If you are new to mindfulness, you will be given options to ease in and out. If you already have an established meditation practice, this will be a day of deepening.

Some of the practices you will be offered include:

  • Sitting Meditation
  • Gentle Mindful Yoga
  • Walking Meditation
  • Mindful Eating
  • Loving-Kindness Meditation

The daylong silent retreat is included in our 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindful Self-Compassion courses and is open to anyone seeking a guided meditation retreat experience.

All that is required is that you come with an open mind and an open heart. Read more on what you can expect below the schedule and registration details.

What to Expect from an Online Retreat

We are currently offering all of our programs and retreats online until we can safely meet in-person again. We have found that a guided at-home retreat can be a deeply healing experience.

Once the retreat gets underway, we’ll invite you to turn off your camera and microphone so you’ll have as much privacy, peace, and quiet as possible. After registering, you will receive an email a day or two before the retreat with information on how to connect, guidance on using Zoom, suggestions for making your space a comfortable refuge, and more details on what to expect from the day.

We’ve been hosting our classes, workshops, and retreats online via Zoom since March 2020. Please contact us with any questions about participating in these offerings virtually.

We look forward to sharing the day with you!

Creating a Retreat Experience at Home

Here are some suggestions for creating a refuge in your home to make this day as enjoyable as possible:

  • Find a space in your home where you can spend the day relatively undisturbed.
  • Let family and friends know that you wish not to be disturbed and will be in silence.
  • Prepare your lunch, beverages, and snacks ahead so that the transition into mindful eating can be as seamless as possible.
  • Give yourself the gift of simply “being” by turning off your phone and other technology for the full time of the retreat. (If you will be connecting to Zoom with your phone or tablet, turn on any “Do Not Disturb” settings available to you on your device.)
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
  • Gather anything that you will need for your comfort and have it close at hand: Yoga mat, blankets, meditation cushions, shawls, and extra layers of clothing.
